When many people think of a family vacation their first thoughts wander to local campgrounds and resorts in their region, rather than considering a truly amazing experience like a Barbados vacation and Caribbean trip. Much of this is due to the stigma that only rich people can go on vacations to the Caribbean, but the truth is that these vacations are far more affordable than most people realize. They are definitely far more amazing than trying to pitch a tent in the rain, that’s for sure!
Think about it: would your children have more fun swimming through blue waters with sea turtles on the coast of Barbados, or trying to avoid skunks and bears at the state park campground? Would your wife rather spend her evening dining with you at a chain restaurant in town, or do you think she might enjoy going out for drinks and dancing at an authentic Caribbean venue instead? When your choice really is as simple as finding a cheap motel downstate from where you live or wandering through mammoth coral caves on a tropical island…well, that’s really not much of a choice at all.
Do yourself and your family a favor and look into a Barbados vacation before the season really kicks off. Do your research, order your tickets in advance, and remember that their currency is worth half what the dollar is. If you play your cards right a few months from now you could be luxuriating on a sandy beach sipping on a tropic drink with those little umbrellas–or you could be talking to the motel manager in Nebraska about switching your room away from the newlyweds next door.
